Were you mis-sold items by BrightHouse?
BrightHouse, the weekly payment store, has been told to pay out £14.8million in compensation and refunds after the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) ruled that it had treated its customers unfairly. The redress totals around £10.1 million for 114,000 agreements entered into between April 1, 2014, and September 30, 2016, covering 81,000 customers.
There were many ways that BrightHouse was treating customers unfairly. The main ones were that they failed to assess the affordability of their payment plans, and that they failed to pay back customers who cancelled their agreements.
If you have ever bought goods with BrightHouse, you may have been mis-sold the items. You may be due thousands of pounds in compensation.

Are Brighthouse currently paying their customers back?
In short: yes. We have made claims of behalf of clients and we have managed to get compensation of between £640 and £6,800. We work on a NO WIN NO FEE basis, so you don’t pay us anything unless we manage to get you a refund. If you do succeed in your claim, we take a fee to pay our costs, but you keep the majority of your compensation.

- How long does the claim take?
We will do our best to get your claim processed as quickly as possible, but claims usually take between 6 and 12 months while we correspond with BrightHouse and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
- Will I definitely receive compensation?
Not all claims will be successful since not all BrightHouse agreements have been mis-sold. However, if you are not successful, we will not charge you any fees or charges for the process. At best, you will receive compensation, but if not, you will be no worse off.
- How will I get paid?
We usually pay clients by cheque straight into their account.

No. The complaint we make on your behalf is separate from your agreements with BrightHouse.
